Description

A thermometer is a very important medical device that needs to be kept within one’s reach in a first aid kit whether at home, office, school, college or any health centre. A thermometer helps you to decipher whether you, your loved one or your patient have a fever. A fever can be an indication of many conditions, such as due to infections, autoimmune disorders, vector-borne diseases like malaria, dengue or gastrointestinal infection. Monitoring and recording temperature can help your doctor understand the pattern of fever, which is useful in making the diagnosis and also in tracking recovery.

Now with the PharmEasy Digital Thermometer (003), you can take anyone’s temperature safely, quickly, and accurately anywhere, enabling you to seek prompt medical attention.

Rectum: To take a rectal temperature, a water-soluble lubricant needs to be applied to the probe cover. The probe needs to be gently inserted into the rectum, 0.5-1 inch. The thermometer should not be forced past any resistance and should be held tightly in place till the time the buzzer makes an indication.

The approximate time taken for measurement in this region is 1 minute.

Armpit region: To record an axillary temperature, the digital thermometer needs to be placed in the centre of the armpit, and the arm needs to be put down so that the thermometer stays in place. The approximate time taken for measurement in this region is 3 minutes.

A child’s temperature is best measured with the armpit. It can be done anytime when they are sitting still or sleeping. Measurement must be done in the presence of adult supervision.
